19 of the Russian's 21 championships have been earned on hard surfaces
A comeback Daniil Medvedev won his initial title for over two years with success over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.
The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has had a challenging season, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a setback at the American major.
The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in particular - led to him exiting of the elite rankings and ultimately separating with long-time trainer his previous coach.
Presently working with Johansson and his other coach, he has consistently improved in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over challenger Moutet.
This marks his maiden championship after the Rome competition and initial on a hard court after March of 2023.
The win also indicates Medvedev has won twenty-one championships at twenty-one distinct tournaments.
"It's the first time I'm at a competition with my two daughters together, so to secure a trophy is especially meaningful," said world number 14 Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had been defeated in his last six finals, featuring in the German tournament earlier this year.
Medvedev's counter-punching play style and regular reactions on the tennis court had caused commentators to doubt if his skill to play at the highest level was over.
However the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, attempting to come to the net and perform aggressively, backed up by an better service.
The champion came back from a break down in the first set against the tricky opponent, taking four of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.
Both players swapped service breaks in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his first ATP Tour title, gained dominance to push for a decider.
The opponent defended four early-game opportunities in a tight final set before the Russian secured a break to 15 to serve for the match.
Suitably, the winner earned the win with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet incapable to handle a volley after over two and a half hours.
